This amplifier is great to use a headset on your normal home/office corded phone. Has volume control and mute buttons so if your on the phone most of the day, it is very comfortable. I work for a call center and have used this with great success.
I have been using the same Plantronics Vista M12 amplifier (and the dual earpiece headset) for about 5 years now with ZERO problems. You will need to replace the batteries occasionally (depends on how much you use it) and make some adjustments to ALL the volume selectors (there are 3), but once set it will be your favorite office upgrade. Easy to plug in to phone, easy to use, and the neck cramps and shoulder spasms will be a thing of the past.
I recently spent quite a bit of money on a new Plantronics amplifier headset system. It is what it is.-Doesn't come with a place to hang the headset.A great device that was marketed by other companies under there name such as Avaya. Nothing like the original. The M series from Plantronics is an excellent, simple and effective office tool.
The new unit also had a non coiled cable for ease of use. The unit is crisp, clear and plenty loud without power amplification. This system was a newer model with lots of dials and the fun red firefly light when one is on the phone.
The unit literally connects to any phone that uses a handset. In theory the new model looked great but in practice I did not like it. I eventually went back to the model pictured on this page.
I also have been very impressed with the headset options for this device.Pro:-Cheap compared to other options.-Quick mute option.-Easy numbered volume control.-Few parts, very reliable.-Small and light.Negatives:-Few features. I recommend with no reservations.
This is the third Plantronics that I have purchased. I am quite disappointed in the product. It is very difficult to set up and even after that it does a poor job of amplification and creates a buzz or background. I have tried to adjust each one an am very dissatified.Mike Kidder
I'll try to get Plantronic to take a look, but who really needs the hassle. I bought this amp with my headset back in March 2005 and already it stops working. There is no tone coming through the headset and I am really disappointed with the quality of this unit. Granted it is used daily in a office environment, but at the price this unit costs, I expect it to work properly in such setting. Instead, it is just another piece of cheap electronic.
